Wentworth Newman Chittenden
Dad seemed to have come from
a noble family, but he was raised
in a boy's school on Thompson's
Island, in Boston Harbor. He was
mainly a laborer, though for a
time he was quite a  successful
photographer, "Worth Studios."
During that time he was able to
buy a new car every two years.
She worked in a candy factory –
she hated it – she often said
"That job is going to kill me." It
seems it did.
She was from Wilmington, Delaware.  She
and dad met while he was on leave from
the navy.  She was a "flapper" in the 30's

She told me that her father was an officer
in Kaiser Wilhelm's army.  He died while
trying to rescue a child from a fallen power
line.  He was awarded a hero's metal,
posthumously.
